Both the Talarm Bush Fire Brigade and the Scouts Association, who assisted with the running of Pro-Ag, received donations from Matt Brennan, manager of the Mid-Coast Observer, which organises the event in conjunction with major sponsor BCU.
The bush fire brigade, represented by Max and Peggy Graham, received more than $1200, and $500 was donated to the scouts.
“We try to prove our commitment to the Nambucca Valley by continuing the community donations,” Mr Brennan said when he made the presentations at the Macksville Showground on Friday.
After Mr Brennan had presented the Nambucca Cancer Support Group with a donation of $500, it received another $1000 from Bellingen helicopter joy flight operator Terry Walker. Mr Walker conducted joy flights over the Pro-Ag weekend.
In other donations from the Pro-Ag organisers, $500 was presented to the Macksville/Scotts Head Surf Lifesaving Club, $300 went to the Bowraville CWA and the Macksville and District Poultry Club was presented with a cheque for $200.
Mr Brennan said trading for exhibitors at Pro-Ag continues to excel and improve and he said the financial benefits to the business community were amazing.
