Nothing’s going to stop Kira now

KIRA McGoldrick is glad her abilities have finally been properly recognised.

The talented indoor cricketer was one of the outstanding performers at last year’s national women’s titles, going through the tournament without being dismissed and receiving the player of the match award in the grand final.

However, to her ongoing disbelief, she was left out of the Australian squad.

“Not making the team was a real kick in the guts,” she said.

“I didn’t get out for the whole tournament and I was the player of the final, so it was hard to take.”

Armed with a steely determination to show selectors exactly what they had missed out on, Kira did it all again at this year’s championships.
